Comic Sans – The font we love to hate

August 2014

An exhibition celebrating 20 years of the infamous font Comic Sans, is currently being held at the Proud Archivist Gallery in London. The Purpose team were among 500 creatives that contributed a poster designed especially for the event – using the font we all love to hate.

Below is a sneak peek of our poster, which is available to buy at the exhibition (2-10 Hertford Road, London N1 5ET) which is open until Sunday 24th August 2014.

We were asked to represent what Comic Sans means to us and let’s be honest, as designers, it’s whack.

We drew on the powerful visual style and language of comic books to express the beating it’s taken over the past twenty years.

All proceeds raised from the sale of the posters are going towards Cancer Research UK with the total reaching well over £5,800 so far. For more information, please click here.
